Call the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) at (800) 321-2752 to find out if a contractor has a valid license and whether any disciplinary action has been taken against it. The CSLB Mandatory Arbitration Program can arbitrate quick, out-of-court settlements. Be sure your contractor is licensed and in good standing, or you could end up paying twice for the same work!
