Meet the CBA Members

Leslie LaManna, CPA, President
Leslie LaManna, CPA, President

Ms. LaManna was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in January 2007. She served as Secretary/Treasurer and Vice President of the CBA before being elected as President in November 2012. Ms. LaManna has served as the President of the San Diego Chapter of the California Society of CPAs. Ms. LaManna also served as adjunct professor in accounting for the University of California, San Diego Extension. She is currently a partner in the public accounting firm of LaManna & LaManna, CPA.

Michael M. Savoy, CPA, Secretary/Treasurer
Michael M. Savoy, CPA, Vice President

Mr. Savoy was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in December 2010, and served as Secretary/Treasurer prior to being elected as Vice President in November 2012. He is the immediate past chairman of the Board of the Americas Region of BKR International, a member of the finance committee, executive committee and member of the board of the Los Angeles Chapter of Commerce, as well as a member of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan Association. Mr. Savoy is managing director at Gumbiner Savett Inc., and was previously a partner at Savoy & Colin.

Kitak (K.T.) Leung, CPA
Kitak (K.T.) Leung, CPA, Secretary / Treasurer

Mr. Leung was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in December 2010, and was elected to serve as Secretary / Treasurer in November 2012. He currently serves as principal of Leung Accountancy Corporation. He previously served as manager of several investment groups, as principal of Leung and Wong Accountancy Group, and Leung and Associates. Mr. Leung also serves on the boards of other various philanthropic and business organizations.

Sarah Sally Anderson, CPA
Sarah "Sally" Anderson, CPA

Ms. Anderson was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in May 2007. She serves on various CBA committees, and held the office of Vice President from 2009-2010, and President from 2010-2011. She is a retired Ernst & Young assurance partner and served as the managing partner of the Orange County and Riverside offices. She has been involved in numerous community and philanthropic organizations. Ms. Anderson is currently the Chair of the Board of the Pacific Symphony, a member of the University of California, Irvine CEO Roundable, a founding member of the Women's Philanthropy Fund of Orange County's United Way, and the Treasurer of the Pacific Club.

Diana Bell
Diana Bell

Ms. Bell was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by the Senate Rules Committee in September 2009, and serves on various CBA committees. She previously served as a Senior Vice President for the Hewlett-Packard Company, and is a director for the Northern California Girls Scouts, the Peralta Community Colleges Foundation Board in Oakland, California, and on the Dean's Advisory Board for Michigan State University's College of Natural Science. Ms. Bell also serves as Board Chairman for the Imani Community Church in Oakland, California, and is on the Advisory Board of Monitoring Division, Inc.

Alicia Berhow

Ms. Berhow was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by the Speaker of the Assembly in February 2011. She has been with the Orange County Business Council since April of 2007. Previously, she served for five years as Senior Field Representative for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez working on education and health care issues. Prior to her time with the Congresswoman, Ms. Berhow worked as Sales Administrator for Miller Brewing Company in Irvine. She currently serves as a board member for the Anaheim Workforce Investment Board, an Ambassador for the Delhi Community Center in Santa Ana, and as a board member for the Community Action Partnership - Orange County.

Michelle R. Brough, Esq.
Michelle R. Brough, Esq.

Ms. Brough was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in November 2008, and serves on various CBA committees. She currently serves as counsel to Brandes Investment Partners, and previously served as senior advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Financial Institutions for the U.S. Department of Treasury, as well as counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. Ms. Brough also previously served as a planning commissioner for the city of Dana Point, and is a member of the Orange County Chapter of the California Women's Leadership Association.

Jose A. Campos, CPA

Mr. Campos was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy in December 2012 by Governor Edmund G Brown, Jr. He has served in multiple positions at Deloitte and Touche LLP since 1991, including partner, senior manager, manager, senior accountant and staff. Mr. Campos is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting

Herschel T. Elkins, Esq.
Herschel T. Elkins, Esq.

Mr. Elkins was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by the Senate Rules Committee in September 2008, and serves on various CBA committees. He previously headed the Consumer Law Section in the California Attorney General's Office before retiring as a Special Assistant Attorney General. Mr. Elkins also served on various task forces and investigative committees on consumer protection matters and drafted many of California's consumer protection statutes.

Laurence (Larry) Kaplan
Laurence (Larry) Kaplan

Mr. Kaplan was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by the Speaker of the Assembly in March 2011. He is an independent management consultant specializing in assisting non-profits, elected officials and public agencies. He has worked extensively in the non-profit sector, and previously served as Los Angeles Area Director of the Trust for Public Land, Southern California Regional Director for Senator Barbara Boxer, and Chief of Staff for Councilman Mike Woo.

Louise Kirkbride
Louise Kirkbride

Ms. Kirkbride was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in March 2008, and serves on various CBA committees. She founded Broad Daylight and Answer Systems, and previously served as marketing manager for Tektronix - CAE Systems. Ms. Kirkbride is a member of the board of trustees at the California Institute of Technology and also serves as a board member on the Contractors' State License Board.

Marshal Oldman, Esq.

Mr. Oldman was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in March 2007, and has served as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President and President of the CBA. He previously served as chair of the Trust and Estate's Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and chair of the Legislative Monitoring Committee of that section. Mr. Oldman is currently a partner in the trust and probate firm Oldman, Cooley, Sallus, Gold, Bimberg & Coleman.

Manuel Ramirez, CPA
Manuel J. Ramirez, CPA

Mr. Ramirez was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in May 2007. He serves on various CBA committees, held the office of Vice President from 2008 to 2009, and also served as President from 2009 to 2010. Mr. Ramirez is currently President/CEO of RJI Ramirez Jimenez International CPAs, has served on over two dozen other philanthropic and business organizations, and is co-founder of Hispanic 100, an organization working to further the development of local, national and international Hispanic business and political leaders.

Katrina Salazar, CPA

Katrina Salazar, CPA

Ms. Salazar was appointed to the California Board of Accountancy in December 2012 by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. Ms. Salazar has served as chief financial officer at the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges since 2010 and has been an adjunct accounting professor with the Los Rios Community College District since 2007. She was an accountant for KL Salazar Company from 2007 to 2010, senior audit manager at Reznick Group PC from 2003 to 2007, a chief financial officer at the American Red Cross from 2002 to 2003 and a financial analyst with Sutter Health from 2001 to 2002. Ms. Salazar held multiple positions at Time Warner Inc. from 1997 to 2000, including financial manager and financial analyst and was a staff and senior accountant at Reznick Group PC from 1994 to 1997.
