Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Online Licensing (Fees)
Fees:
The Barbering and Cosmetology Act (Business and Professions Code Section 7417) gives the Board the authority to collect all accrued and unpaid renewal fees and delinquency fees for a license that is not renewed prior to the expiration date. Effective 03/01/2008 the fees have increased to $50 for a personal license and $25 for a late renewal fee. Previous to 03/01/2008 the fee to renew the personal license was $40 and the late fee was $20.
Example: License expired 04/30/2006. Need to bring license current to 04/30/2010. Total amount due is $135.
Fees for 04/30/2006 to 04/30/2008: $40 renewal fee and a $20 delinquent fee (old fees prior to the 03/01/2008 increase)
Fees to bring the license from 04/30/2008 to 04/30/2010: $50 renewal fee and a $25 delinquent (new fees after 03/01/2008)

Exam Applications Fees
Initial Application - Varies per profession $110.00 - $125.00
Re-Exam Fee - $75.00 (If re-exam is within the same year as initial payment.)
Personal License Renewal Fees
Renewal - $50.00
Late Renewal - $75.00
Duplicate - $10.00
Establishment License Renewal Fee
(Cannot be renewed or duplicated on-line, payments must be mailed.)
Renewal - $40.00
Late Renewal - $60.00
