Woodland
Hills Physical Therapist Gives Up License
While Facing Negligence and Incompetence Charges
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 28, 2004
SACRAMENTO — The Physical Therapy Board of California has obtained the surrender of the license belonging to Jane Rae Parr of Woodland Hills. Ms. Parr chose to surrender her state physical therapist license instead of contesting charges of negligence and incompetence in the treatment of patients.
Ms. Parr was accused of exposing her patients to extreme risk of injury, aggravated pain, danger, and extreme departure from the working standard of care in her job performance while at Care Center Rehabilitation and Pain Management.
The surrender of Ms. Parr's license goes on her state record and will be considered if she ever applies for reinstatement. The action is effective April 28, 2004.
The Physical Therapy Board of California licenses about 22,000 Physical Therapy professionals in the state. Anyone who wishes to file a complaint against a physical therapist can contact the Board by calling (916) 561-8200 or by visiting the Board's Web site at www.ptb.ca.gov.
