The California Department of Consumer Affairs wants all Californians to be "Safe and Smart Holiday Consumers."

"By taking some precautions and remaining alert, consumers can help make their holiday shopping experience safer," said Charlene Zettel, Director of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. "Knowing your rights and keeping our tips in mind can help lower your risk of scams and fraud."
