ONTARIO – The Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) has voted unanimously to appoint Louise Bailey as its Executive Officer.
Louise had been serving as Interim Executive Officer since the Board's sunset on December 31, 2011, and had previously served as the Board's Executive Officer since November, 2010. For eight years prior, Bailey served as the Board's Supervising Nursing Education Consultant. Over the years, Bailey has held numerous positions in nursing and academia, including a faculty position at Howard University's College of Nursing in Washington, D.C. and the Director of Nursing position at Highland Hospital in Oakland.
"We are thrilled to be able to make Louise the Board's Executive Officer once again," said Board President Raymond Mallel. "Louise has done a lot of hard work as Executive Officer, leading the effort to make vast improvements in the performance of the Board's enforcement program. She will continue to serve the Board – and California's health care consumers – well."
