2008 PACT Summit

The 2008 Professionals Achieving Consumer Trust Summit (PACT Summit) was a huge success! The inaugural PACT Summit brought together nearly 40 DCA Boards and Bureau Advisory Committees, government agencies, consumer advocates, law enforcement and other consumer protection stakeholders. With almost 3,000 in attendance, Summit participants met and discussed common issues, shared best practices, and established partnerships that foster better communication, cooperation and collaboration on behalf of consumers.

Of particular note, DCA Board and Advisory Committee Chairs in attendance signed a PACT Agreement. This agreement is a commitment to executing their roles as leaders in consumer protection and education; to upholding the value of the licenses issued by the regulatory entities that make up the Department of Consumer Affairs, and to regulating in accordance with 10 core values: accountability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, customer service, employees, unity, creativity, education, and action.

Through this Summit, according to Director Lopez, "We have built a solid foundation on which to raise consumer protection to new heights and send a strong message to consumers that we are committed to earning their trust for years to come."
