Bureau Chief Sherrie Moffet-Bell
Arbitration Certification Program and Telephone Medical Advice Services Bureau
Sherrie Moffet-Bell was appointed as Chief of the Arbitration Certification Program (ACP) by the Director of Consumer Affairs on July of 2008. In addition she was appointed as the Bureau Chief of the Telephone Medical Advice Services Bureau (TMAS) in November of 2009.
Prior to her tenure with ACP, Moffet-Bell was appointed Chief of the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau on December 2, 2004. Moffet-Bell was responsible for the management of all operational matters, including licensing and enforcement activities.
Moffet-Bell was the Deputy Chief of the Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), for seven years where she was also responsible for the management of all operational matters, including licensing and enforcement activities for security guards, private investigators, locksmiths and security corporations. She has also been responsible for the management and coordination of such successful projects as the electronic interface with the Department of Justice, and the development of the On-Line licensing applications.
Prior to her tenure with the BSIS, Moffet-Bell served as the manager of the Department of Consumer Affairs' Enforcement Division. In this role, she was responsible for coordinating and overseeing the enforcement activities of the BSIS, the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), the Cemetery and Funeral Program, the Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation (BHFTI), and the Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair (BEAR). She has a long time working relationship with the state Attorney General's office in assuring that cases are properly investigated prior to submitting for disciplinary action.
