Message from the President
The recent weeks have been an extremely challenging time for all of us throughout California and beyond due to COVID-19.
Our daily lives have been significantly disrupted as we focus on keeping ourselves and our families healthy. To do our part to help promote public health, the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) closed its offices to the public following the Governor’s stay-at-home order. Since then, most of our staff have been working remotely, with a small number of staff working in the office each day supporting our critical functions.
We recognize that our applicants are eager to continue through their journey to obtain their certified public accountant license. Similarly, current licensees have questions about continuing education and related renewal requirements. Thank you for your patience as our staff work as quickly as possible to process applications, respond to emails, and support all our stakeholders. We are thankful for staff’s hard work and tireless efforts for the benefit of California consumers and CBA stakeholders. The CBA is very fortunate to have such a dedicated and highly-skilled staff.
The CBA, like many other organizations, welcomes the opportunity to explore new ways to conduct business that incorporates increased automation and more virtual work platforms, while continuing to provide excellent customer service.
During this unprecedented time, the CBA remains committed to continuing its consumer protection mission.
We encourage you to visit our COVID-19 help page for the latest resources and guidance during the pandemic.
All the best,
Nancy J. Corrigan, CPA
President, California Board of Accountancy
