Extensions — Notice to Schedule and CPA Exam Credit
The CBA may grant an extension for a Notice to Schedule (NTS) or CPA Exam credit status expiration date if an applicant was prevented from testing due to one of the following events:
- Death of an immediate family member, when accompanied by documentation, such as a copy of the death certificate.
- Catastrophic illness, contagious disease, or major traumatic injury to the applicant or immediate family member (spouse, child or parent), when accompanied by an original letter on letterhead from the physician, which includes the date(s), nature of the illness, and the physician's signature.
- Natural disaster (earthquake, flood, fire, etc.).
- Non-issuance of visa for travel to the U.S., when accompanied by documentation, such as an official letter from the U.S. Embassy or a copy of the passport indicating a visa was requested.
- Other good cause.
Extension requests, along with supporting documents, must be submitted in writing and sent to the CBA using one of the following methods:

The request must include:
- Your name
- Statement of what you are requesting
- Reasons for your request
- Signature and date
- All required support documents (ex. physician letter, death certificate, etc.)
All requests and documents must be written in English or translated by a professional translation service.
Requests are reviewed in the order received and are processed within 30 days from the date of receipt.
